Pilates Equipment – The Reformer And The Pilates Magic Circle

While working in New York, word spread quickly about how Joseph Pilates(founder of Pilates) was able to help injured dancers. Since then PIlates has swept the world and it is now renowned as among the finest fitness regimes. Many pieces of equipment are used to assist the practitioner in their workout. Here are some of the most well known.
The Pilates Reformer – Well, we will start with the reformer. It is the most popular for Pilates enthusiasts. There are a whole range of exercises you can do using spring resistance. A carriage, which moves along rails, forms the central item. The bench, or carriage as it is called, can be used to sit, stand, lie or kneel on. Alter the resistance springs to meet your level of training. The reformer is ideal of those serious about their fitness.
The Pilates Magic Circle – Another piece of equipment created by Joseph Pilates is the ‘Magic Circle’. At around 32cm it is small enough to take anywhere. It will help to sculpt and strengthen your body. Use it in a variety of exercises to increase fitness and muscle strength.
A Pilates Program – Ensure once you buy your equipment that it includes at least a simple work out program for you personally to follow. You can always browse online for other workout routines using your chosen equipment. So no matter what your budget or exactly where you want to train there is some Pilates gear for that will suit you. So why not join millions of others who are experiencing greater health through Pilates?

In the mid-1920s, Pilates moved to New York, where he opened a fitness studio and continued to teach Pilates to dancers. His Pilates studio quickly gained popularity, and Pilates’s students began opening studios around the country. By the second half of the twentieth century, Pilates studios were common in many large United States cities.
