I am positive by now you would have discovered that Pilates exercises not just reduces stress but also gives to you a fit body and also better physical condition. It’s because of this reason that Pilates has taken the globe by storm. Don’t worry, it doesn’t cost heaps of money to get started with Pilates at all. You will be able to train at home using a few  reasonably priced Pilates equipment.

These Pilates machines are huge and can entail a bigger budget . You do not require something like that to start doing Pilates at home – these are some things you will certainly require:

The kind of clothes you will need is simplistic – A tee shirt together with a pair of loose track trousers is probably the most comfortable for  exercises. The reason for baggy clothes is just so that you may stretch without difficulty and perform the workouts in comfort.

Pilates will require plenty of ground exercises, so make sure you buy a comfortable floor mat. Be certain you only buy the thicker type of fitness mats, do not go for the thin ones. If a mat is too skinny, it might hurt your back  and you can risk injuring your backbone at the same time. In order to better protect your spine, get the thicker, more comfortable pilates mats. You will be able to buy them from Pilates specialist stores on the internet or in your town.

The subsequent bit of equipment you might look into is the Magic circle . The ring is in essence a durable rubber loop that offers resistance and helps you to tone and shape your body – and it works great! Just remember that there are different levels of resistance loops you can get yourself, as well as different dimensions – select one that is most suitable for yourself.

The Magic ring or circle’s aim is simple: it helps you tone the core muscles, which includes your pelvis muscle, your stomach  together with your rear.

The Magic ring is good for toning all your core areas as well as your lower body sections like your legs. There are hundreds of different ways you can train with the Pilates ring thus you’re going to get real value for money by purchasing it.

A Pilates ball is the last essential piece of equipment you will need to do the majority of the basic Pilates routines. The Yoga balls are cheap and will cost you about sixty dollars for a branded one. Be certain to get a decent brand as the low-cost ones are very likely to spill air after some time.

Is pilates enough for core strength or should I be supplementing with other ab exercises?

Question by liketotallysick: Is pilates enough for core strength or should I be supplementing with other ab exercises?
I like to have a balaned workout regiment and for core strength I do pilates 2-3 times per week. Should I be doing other ab exercises in addition to this?

Best answer:

Answer by Mara
Your pilates exercises should be fine for now, but just remember to change up the workout every two weeks (or at least once a month) or your body will become accustomed to doing those exercises and they won’t be beneficial anymore.

Also, make sure that your core exercises include all parts of the core, not just abs. Make sure you’re working your sides and back.

How and when should I add pilates into my normal workout routine?

Question by youngjr42: How and when should I add pilates into my normal workout routine?
I try to workout at least 3 days a week, do cardio 2 days, and rest the other 2 (try to get 2 rest days, b/c I work shift work). I was wondering how and when should I add pilates where it’ll benefit me the most?

Best answer:

Answer by Patty
I would start by adding 10 or 15 minutes after your cardio workouts. The nice thing about doing pilates after cardio is that you will not only get the benefits of toning and strengthening, but you will also get a nice stretch after you did your cardio. I get my pilates workout videos online at http://www.workoutsondemand.com — I simply download them from their site to my computer.

I hope this helps.
